Bridget paced her kitchen, face hot with rage. No one should do that to a child...NO ONE. Thoughts were flying faster than she could catch them. Her head spun, even her ears felt hot. She stepped out onto her back patio to try and calm down with a cigarette. As she exhaled she felt the energy shift around her. Someone new was there.
She took another drag and felt this new current. "I know you," She said… trying to place the presence. "You've been here before when I was angry." Softening a little, Bridget went inside, grabbed a gummy and sat in her favorite chair with her phone.
"Who are you?" She asked as she opened her music app. She was scrolling through a recommended playlist when her finger slipped onto a song she had never given much thought to. Her body started moving with the rhythm of the music. The thoughts in her head started to slow. She listened closely to the lyrics.
As she loosened up, she began talking to the visiting spirit. "Look at you, just swaggering in here like you own the place."
"Oh, pardon me," he said with sarcastic sweetness, "I'll just show myself out then."
"No no no no!!! Please stay!" Bridget pleaded.
"I want to show you something," He said. "Let's go lay down."
She got into her bed and shut her eyes. It was dark but familiar. She had been here before.
"Welcome to the Underworld," he said. "It's too dark to see. Tell me what form you want me to take to light the way."
"The Northern Lights," Bridget replied without hesitation.
And so his form took shape as rippling pinks and greens, casting a soft light for her to follow as they explored the Underworld together.
