Clint Eastwood (2/3)

Before Bridget met Nova, when the Grove was full of saplings and hope and Bridget and Breathwoven were the only residents. Before Stillwater was named, when Rook was only a curious black bird she noticed from time to time, there was a day. Aloaca, the day the sun moved from Pisces into Aries. On this day odd things happened. A young Alpaca wearing an orange vest stood atop of throne of Busch Light. A great blue heron flew next to Bridget's car, making awkward sideways eye contact with her through the driver's side window. And she was given a task. To create a play list that represented her birthchart. Her power within each house. This was not an origin story, it could not do with her past. It was not what she hoped for or wished she could be. It was her power, in that moment, in each of the 12 houses.

She thought long and hard. There were some tough calls. But eventually she had them all done… all but one house.

The 9th House song seemed too on the nose. She wanted it to be Clint Eastwood by the Gorillaz, but that seemed to obvious. She felt like she wanted a new song, a different song. That one had too much history behind it. And so she sat with it and thought about it.

Night came and she wondered out into the world, walking to the gas station for a pack of cigarettes. She was in pajama pants, with slippers that looked like shoes if you didn't look too hard and an unmatching tank top with a long, flowing green cardigan. She slipped on her headphones and turned on her almost complete birthchart playlist, dancing in the middle of the street while listening to it.

When she left the gas station, her music stopped. She reached into her pocket to grab her phone, but before she could touch it, it started again. And so she removed her hand and the music stopped. She reached in to grab her phone and the music started. This continued until Bridget stopped and sat down on the curb.

"I know you. And I know what this is about." She said, amused. "You are mad because I haven't put your song in my playlist yet. Here I am listening to everyone else's and pretending like yours isn't good enough. Here." And she added Clint Eastwood to her mix. "Are you happy now?" She asked with a smirk and turned on the song. She danced in the middle of the street, singing along, with smoke trailing behind her in the moonlight.
