Thornlight (1/3)

Bridget took more than three bites. It was unholy, it was a little repulsive… but it was also quite interesting. And once her tongue settled into the contrasting flavors, it didn't taste assaulting, but curious. She did her dishes and then clearly, she heard words arise, "Gather your laundry, your headphones, cigarettes and a lighter. Don't worry about a bottle, you'll find one there." Bridget was annoyed that her intuition was speaking so clearly to her, this is not the night she had planned.

On her way to the laundromat the voice arose again. "Start your laundry and then go to your swamp."

"Great," she said aloud to whatever was around to hear her. "I wish you would have told me sooner, I'm still in my work clothes." She felt the muffled laughter around her and rolled her eyes.

After putting her clothes in the laundry she left for her swamp. She hit random on her music app, the song repeated. She checked, the app was not on repeat. She felt eyes around her, multiplying by the minute. She swallowed hard and started singing along. If they were going to watch her, she would give them a show.
